$10.75 per hour to start with a  $.50 hour differential  for evening and overnight shifts. You will also receive $1.00 differential for weekend shifts worked on top of your base pay of $10.75

Status:  Full-Time, Part-Time, and Seasonal Positions Available

Hours:  Evening, Overnight, On-Call and Limited Day Hours Available

The people who receive services from Black Hills Works have many residential options available, including apartment living, a leased home, home ownership, group homes and family homes. 

General Description of the Position:
Your purpose is to support people with disabilities in their home, place of employment or day service program.
- You must demonstrate the importance of community involvement, social interactions and maintaining healthy relationships. 
- Develop and facilitate community connections and relationships 
- Assist people supported in developing and following a person centered schedule
- Aid people supported to participate in activities of their choosing 
- Provide opportunities for activities in various settings and transportation as needed 
- Exhibit professional behavior towards people supported, their families, coworkers and supervisors 
- Build inclusive opportunities in the community for people supported 

Candidate Qualifications:
1. Must posses a high school diploma or equivalent.  
2. Required to be at least 18 years of age.  

3. Must have a valid driver's license (and a safe driving record to be insurable under our insurance).  
4. Required to pass a qualifying criminal background check, sex offender screening, and motor vehicle report.  
5. Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

Essential Functions:
1. Drive people to and from work, or to various community activities.
2. Lifting requirements may exceed 50 lbs. during medical and safety emergency situations. 
3. Instruct and assist people in home activities; may include carrying groceries, cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, and laundry

4. Depending on home environment, may assist with mobility of people served (manual transfers and/or by using equipment) to and from chairs, couches, wheelchairs, beds, and commodes.  
5. Assist people with personal hygiene and care (bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, etc.).  
6. Depending on the needs of the person, may push a person in their wheelchair and/or use mechanical lift. 
7. May reposition people, who are not able to move on their own, in a sitting or lying position.

8. Follow daily work schedule as assigned.
9. Complete the various required training activities 

10. Comply with Agency, Health Department and Administrative Rules of SD, (ARSD)
11. Additional duties as assigned which promote the personal outcomes of people we support.
