$10.75 an hour with a $.50 hour differential for evening and overnight shifts. You will also receive $1.00 differential for weekend shifts worked on top of your base pay of $10.75

General Description of the Position:
Your purpose is to support people with disabilities in their home, place of employment or day services.  You are responsible to assist each person to achieve personal outcomes that reflect their dreams, hopes and desires.  We learn about personal outcomes when we talk to people and learn what is important to them.  Other duties may be assigned based on the premise that our support professionals are working for the people they serve.

Qualifications:
1. High School graduation and at least 18 years old
2. Prefer experience in working with people with disabilities
3. Valid driver's license - must have a safe driving record and be insurable under our insurance
4. Pass a qualifying criminal background check which includes motor vehicle report
5. Negative drug test

Agency Requirements During Orientation Period:
Support Professionals must attend and complete the following courses we offer:
1. CPR, First Aid
2. Medication Certification (as applicable to the area)
3. New Employee Induction and Orientation
4. Positive Behavioral Supports Training
5. Human Rights and Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation Training
6. Safety and Sanitation, Blood Borne Pathogens, Safe Lifting
7. It's All About Relationships Training

Essential Functions:
1. Drive people to and from work, or to various community activities.
2. Responsible for low level vehicle maintenance of assigned agency vehicle, (check oil, walk around inspections, clean); drive at night and day in varying weather and road conditions, insuring for the safety of passengers.
3. Accompany and instruct people in using Rapid Ride.
4. Follow work schedule as assigned.
5. Assist people with personal hygiene and care, possibly in bathing, brushing teeth, etc.
6. Comply with Agency, Health Department and Administrative Rules of SD, (ARSD)
7. Lifting requirements may exceed 50 lbs. during medical and safety emergency situations. 
8. Assist or transfer people served from and to their wheelchairs, beds, commodes, on to floor mats, bean bag chairs, on and off a van, etc.
9. Push a person in their wheelchair.
10. Reposition people, who are not able to move on their own, in a sitting or lying position.
11. Instruct and assist people in work and home activities; may include carrying groceries, cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, and laundry.
